Shepherd Needs Home

German ShepherdJasmine, a 4 1/2 year old german shepherd. Up to date on all shots. She is great off leash, but pulls like crazy on a leash. Has very basic training, ex: sit, down, off. Knows to sit for affection, will give a little nudge. As is very usual with shepherds her stomach is very sensitive so only Natural Choice Lamb & Rice for the girl. She is 65-70 lbs. Jasmine loves to play and run, not great at fetch, she will get the ball/toy but isn't good about bringing it back, she will just keep it and play with it for a while. There is so much more to tell, but I'm not sure what else you might want to know. Feel free to call me for anymore info, my cell phone is 603-568-6443.

Sweet Boy Needs Home
Toby (pit bull/lab mix) needs a homeHe is so very sweet and wanting to please! He showed up in my front yard in April and I haven't been able to find his owners. He's very loving and gentle. I have had to leave him alone for long days while I'm at work and he hasn't chewed or gotten into anything. He’s been great with female dogs. I’d be cautious with a male dog or with cats. I’d definitely keep him if my life permitted. Toby is likely a yellow lab/pit bull mix. He's been to the vet and has a clean bill of health, shots, neutered, etc. He’s one year old and weighs 49 lbs. Please call Fé if you can help this sweet boy: (480) 628-5610.

Million Dog March, NH, 2007

Please join us for the Million Dog March, from 2:00 - 4:00 PM.  Permits have been approved from both the Statehouse and the City of Concord, so we will meet at the Statehouse, and walk around the block to the Legislative Office Building, and back

Dear Rescuers, Contact the FDA

Dear rescuers;

I just received a call back from a representative of the FDA, in response to a message I had left with their office this past Friday afternoon. I spoke with a very nice woman there ( from their Massachusetts office), who informed me that if we have any complaints of our animals becoming ill, or dying from ANY kind of dog or cat foods, that we need to log on to:

FDA Pet Food RECALL , and then click on Consumer Complaints Coordinator:
You will land at the Consumer Complant State Page
Then find the correlating phone number for your State, and call to report your pet's illness or death to that number for your own State.

FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION
CENTER FOR VETERINARY MEDICINE

INTERPRETING PET FOOD LABELS
The following consumer information is provided by David A. Dzanis, DVM, Ph.D., DACVN.
Pet food labeling is regulated at two levels. The Federal regulations, enforced by the FDA's Center for Veterinary Medicine (CVM), establish standards applicable for all animal feeds: proper identification of product, net quantity statement, manufacturer's address, and proper listing of ingredients. Some States also enforce their own labeling regulations. Many of these have adopted

One is the loneliest number

One is the loneliest number

Nothing was working. When Riley was given free reign of the house, she chewed furniture, door frames, anything she could wrap her mouth around. Confining the 70-pound mixed breed dog to a crate only made her anxiety worse, and she chewed her way out,

Deciding Who's Alpha

Deciding Who's Alpha

Some people are simply not 'animal people.'

Take my family, for instance. My father had a deep-seated loathing of cats and dogs, and I can't recall any of his eight brothers or sisters owning pets.

As adults, my two sisters owned a cat and a dog, respectively. The cat, for reasons known only to him, woke my sister Rose one morning by sinking his claws

It has come to my attention (to quote Dave Barry, I am not making this up), that an enterprising group of researchers at Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Base in Sichuan province is trying to make lemonade from lemons.

Man's Best Friend?
