Shepherd Needs Home | Print |  E-mail

German ShepherdJasmine, a 4 1/2 year old german shepherd. Up to date on all shots. She is great off leash, but pulls like crazy on a leash. Has very basic training, ex: sit, down, off. Knows to sit for affection, will give a little nudge. As is very usual with shepherds her stomach is very sensitive so only Natural Choice Lamb & Rice for the girl. She is 65-70 lbs. Jasmine loves to play and run, not great at fetch, she will get the ball/toy but isn't good about bringing it back, she will just keep it and play with it for a while. There is so much more to tell, but I'm not sure what else you might want to know. Feel free to call me for anymore info, my cell phone is 603-568-6443.

Sweet Boy Needs Home | Print |  E-mail
Toby (pit bull/lab mix) needs a homeHe is so very sweet and wanting to please! He showed up in my front yard in April and I haven't been able to find his owners. He's very loving and gentle. I have had to leave him alone for long days while I'm at work and he hasn't chewed or gotten into anything. He’s been great with female dogs. I’d be cautious with a male dog or with cats. I’d definitely keep him if my life permitted. Toby is likely a yellow lab/pit bull mix. He's been to the vet and has a clean bill of health, shots, neutered, etc. He’s one year old and weighs 49 lbs. Please call Fé if you can help this sweet boy: (480) 628-5610.

Boston Terrier Howie | Print |  E-mail
Howie is a handsome, muscular, active, 30 pound, 3-year-old male neutered Boston Terrier in excellent health, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, and on preventative.

He knows most hand signals and verbal commands, and has an intense food and toy drive - perfect for working, agility, and competitions. Working off leash, using verbal and/or hand commands and corrections, and food and toys as incentives, Howie will do almost anything you want him to do. He is happiest when working for food and toy rewards.

Howie absolutely loves to work. Howie has the perfect demeanor for such tasks, and would make an ideal working dog or competition dog, and needs a home in which he can utilize his unique characteristics, youth, energy, and drive towards constructive activities.

Howie has been evaluated by two trainers, Bruce of K9 College in Massachusetts and Mary Finalyson of Concord, New Hampshire.
 Howie the Boston Terrier
Both said that Howie would be excellent at working, competitions, agility, and other active, focused pursuits.

Howie is housetrained, crate trained, and can ride in cars as long as he is crated. He is gentle, loving, eager to please, with some dominant tendencies which are easily correctable. Howie does exhibit anxiety related behaviors in isolated situations, which are also correctable.

Howie is eligible for ILP registration via the American Kennel Club, which allows him to participate in many AKC events, including Obedience Trials, Agility Trials, Rally, Lure Coursing, Tracking Tests, Hunt Tests, and Junior Showmanship.

The application and necessary photos for ILP registration will be available to Howie's adoptive family, including his veterinary records, heartwork preventative, crate, leash, collar, harness, training collars, bed, and toys. Howie currently eats Royal Canin Adult.

Howie is looking for a loving, permanent home where he can utilize his energy, intelligence, and drive to perform - a home with adult owners preferably experienced with working dogs and competition/agility.

So, if you have experience in working/agility/competition and are looking for a great new competition or working dog, please consider adopting this great Boston Terrier!

Howie is available for adoption through "Friends of the Animals". An adoption application and approval is required.

Howie is currently in a foster home in Concord, New Hamphire.

Trainer/behaviorist Mary Finlayson is available to meet with potential adoptive families/individThis dog has a strong play and food driveuals to demonstrate Howie's abilities and areas where he needs work, and to assess the compatibility between Howie and a potential new owner.

New pictures will be available online on Sunday, April 22. These will include photos of Howie showing off his working/obedience traits and his heavy food and toy drive!

For more about adopting Howie, please contact Mike or Emily Mansell in Concord, NH at (603) 224-3649.

Please feel free to print and post this at your facility, as well as forward this to other facilities.

Two Labs Need Home | Print |  E-mail

Two Labs Need Home

Contact: Deborah Capuano at damonet AT verizon.net

The owner has terminal cancer and can't care for them anymore, and he'd really like to find a home for them while he's still able and hopes to find a family who can take both together.

Details: Black Labs, Male, Adult, Altered. They are about 4 years old.

Darling "Hunter" and "Fame" are two gorgeous pure-bred labs, brothers, who find themselves needing a new home now that their owner has become too ill to care for them. They are truly wonderful dogs. The owner's grandchildren can crawl all over them and like a typical lab; they just lay there and love it. Both are neutered, and up to date on their shots. They are housebroken and are very well behaved. We would love to keep these two boys together if possible; they are the best of friends.

Senior Cocker Mix Needs Home | Print |  E-mail

I have a very healthy 12 year old cocker mix. I would consider him a medium size dog, black with a white muzzle, neutered, totally housebroken, good with kids and cats. His owner is moving and can't take him with her. His name is Maurice. I can get you pictures if you think you might be interested. He wants to be touched all of the time, he loves to be petted and will lay his head in your lap. He is quiet and obedient, but must be tied as he will run. He is a great dog.

If interested contact Katherine
